The Oilrig Road passes through Hunterston splitting several fields and Largs Avenue in two, it starts at the Hunterston Roundabout and travels out into the middle of the River Clyde where it terminates on the construction yard. It is called the Oilrig Road as the yard was purpose built to build Oilrigs.

There used to be a Bailey Bridge that crossed the Power station access road but was removed by Clydeport in late 1990s, unfortunately Clydeport refuse to provide me with any images of the bridge, so if anyone has any pictures please get in touch. The road was realigned in 1999, now Oilrig Road connects with Power Station Road and the main access to the Construction Yard is via the Power Station Road.
