Toilets
There are three toilets in the castle, one in the living room and another in the bedroom. There is a third toilet on the ground floor but it was added in the 1970s for Estate workers and for use by visitors to the castle.
The toilet in the living room is set into the thick wall and next to the access door to the Barrel Vault (dungeon) below and has a door attached to it for privacy. The toilet in the bedroom is again set into the thick wall however is just a hole in the floor, as to how it may have looked when it was in use is unknown.
Both toilets are just a drop shaft directly to the ground and at one time would have gone directly into the moat however that is long gone.
