The Three Sisters are a rocky outcrop just off Goldenberry Hill. These cliffs overlook the River Clyde towards Little Cumbrae Island and on a clear day you can get stunning views down the west coast as far as Ayr and Ailsa Crag and north towards the Trossachs.

They are no longer owned by Hunterston Estate but added here as part of Goldenberry Hill. The land here is now owned by Ardneil Estate.

It is between the Three Sisters and Hawking Craig that the Hunterston Brooch was found.

The area between the Three Sisters and the mobile phone tower was once a bloody battle in 1263 prior to the famous Viking battle of Largs. It is suggested that this is when the Hunterston brooch was dropped and lost  to be found in 1826.
