Hillhouse Plantation
Next to Hillhouse Farm you will find this plantation. It is quite a boggy place in certain parts but also quite heavily encased by trees and rhodedendron bushes. In this wood there is an old bottle dump. While I was growing up I discovered it and was facinated by the finds.
There were many old 19th and early 20th century bottles and crockery to be found, but later on in the late 1980s it was filled in by stones and rocks that were dug up from neighboring fields. There are several paths that go through the wood but you will find yourself in a boggy mess if you attempt to try the full route, unless you know the secret way!
