Coal Shed
The Coal Shed gets its name as it was used to store the coal for the associated cottage. There are two coal sheds and located under the stone stairs of upper cottage. The coal shed that is shown on the image with the arched top of the door on the side of the stairs was for upper cottage and the other was under the stairs outside the door of lower cottage.

The coal sheds were ideal for me as a child growing up as was able to cultivate some chestnuts and get them to grow. As the shed was damp it was ideal growing for the seeds.

In later years when coal was no longer used firewood was placed in the sheds instead.
